James Alan Shelton will accompany bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley on guitar as part of T Bone Burnett’s Speaking Clock Revue – a multi-artist concert extravaganza – on October 16 at the Wang Center in Boston and October 20 at the Beacon Theater in New York City. In addition to Ralph Stanley, both evenings of the Revue will feature performances by Elton John & Leon Russell, John Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, Gregg Allman, Jeff Bridges, Punch Brothers, Karen Elson, and newcomers The Secret Sisters. In addition, Neko Case and Jim James from My Morning Jacket will join the lineup in Boston and New York respectively.
The concerts will be presented in a revue format with a house band consisting of the players featured on numerous Burnett-produced recordings. Tickets for The Speaking Clock Revue went on sale Monday, September 27 through Ticketmaster.
On October 24, Stanley and Shelton will fly to the west coast to take part in Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. Members of the 1960′s rock band, Buffalo Springfield will reunite plus performances by T Bone Burnett, modern rockers Modest Mouse, indie-folk band Grizzly Bear, Bridge stalwarts Pearl Jam and a classic country doubleheader of Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard.
